Learning Contract

Objective 1.  Increase and demonstrate my knowledge base and analytical skills in the area of adult education. Demonstrate participation by sharing the blog with at least one other classmate or adult learner
(LP #1, 4a).

Resources/Strategies: Create a personal journal “blog”.  In lieu of discussion, this active mode of communication will be updated throughout the course to demonstrate growth.  Using textbooks and other sources, focus on perspectives, observations and insights along the way.

Target date for completion: Beginning 5/28/13 and continuing weekly throughout summer semester

Evidence: Complete blog entries that are both reflective AND substantive on a weekly basis, with additional “pages” added for various assignments as needed.

Verification Instructor feedback, Classmate/adult learner feedback


Objective 2.  Increase my knowledge base of critical issues in adult education and to demonstrate my understanding of professional and ethical practice. (LP #5,6).

Resources/Strategies: Complete all reading assignments; create a philosophy statement, and professional code of ethics. 

Target date for completion: End of semester

Evidence: Post book review, philosophy statement and professional code of ethics on blog.

Verification: Instructor review and feedback



Objective 3.  To complete an in-depth study of one content area of adult learning (LP#7 LP#3 and TERM PROJECT)

Resources/Strategies:  Read several related articles, choose a chapter from Merriam/Grace text, interview subjects adult learners of various ages, on the content area.

Target date for completion: End of semester

Evidence: Complete a video/or other type of production to show interviews plus a summary paper that will include LP#3 the chapter/book review component.

Verification: Instructor review and feedback.  Participant feedback
